About Page Street Fit

Page Street Fit (PSF) is a San Francisco-based community fitness organization of locals from the Haight-Ashbury, NOPA and Hayes Valley neighborhoods. Started by two San Francisco natives during the pandemic, PSF has since scaled to more than 100+ active members with classes at Page Street, the Panhandle, and LuxFit in Hayes Valley. We organize fitness classes and other activities (cycling, running, climbing, hiking, camping, yoga, etc. in various locations) and are committed to making our neighborhoods feel healthier and more connected.

April 2024 Update

From October 2021-March 2024, we held the majority of our workout classes on the Page Slow Street between Baker & Lyon Streets. You may have seen us passing on foot or bicycle! However, in April 2024, we partnered with the New Antioch Baptist Church at 1235 Fell Street to host our signature fitness classes in their parking lot. We loved our time working out on Page Street, and are excited to expand to a safer and more sustainable location.

Our Workouts & Events

Our signature workout classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays (5pm PST) and Fridays (4:30pm). The MW classes will be held at the New Antioch Baptist Church (NABC) parking lot while the Friday locations alternate between NABC, the Panhandle hardscape and LuxFit Hayes Valley. Other member-led events including cycling, running, walking, climbing, hiking, camping, yoga occur with weekly / monthly regularity depending on the activity.

Our signature one hour workout classes (attendance average 25–30) are typically separated into two sections:

  • Accessory: This is most commonly a compound barbell lift i.e. back squat, front squat, deadlift, bench press, push press, etc.
  • WOD (Workout of the Day): This is typically a circuit workout designed to get your heart rate up, lasting anywhere from 12–30 minutes of work. These circuits feature anywhere from 2–5 different movements.

The PSF community (~100 strong & growing!) is wonderfully diverse and our participants come from all walks of life, parts of the city, and a variety of skill / experience levels. As such, we make sure we can provide scalable movement options for everyone. We manage all communications, attendance and scheduling via Heylo.

Finally, we have been logging our workouts since October 2021 (see AirTable gallery below). We develop all the workout programming ourselves and would love to know what you think or if you find any of these ideas helpful.
